Programaton Zoe

With the release of Zoé’s new album, “ Programaton ”, the band has announced the accompanying tour which will take the band in its most extensive tour yet, with stops in 16 different countries and 75 concerts already confirmed and more dates are expected to be added along the way.

Zoé’s trek through several countries will begin this Thursday November 7th at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco and it will make its way to the L.A. area on Friday November 8th at Club Nokia and November 9th at the Fox Theater in Pomona before heading down to San Diego and then Las Vegas.

After the success of the “MTV Unplugged Musica De Fondo” album and tour, in which Zoé took a big risk with their fans, who were used to the more electronic sounds that had been the basis for Zoé’s music for more than 15 years, Zoé has gone back to their classic sound on their new album “Programaton”.

Just by looking at the album cover for “ Programaton ” one can see that Zoe’s is back to the mixing of art and music as they have done on previous albums. “Programaton’s” cover shows what appears to be a soccer game being played with geometric symbols painted on the field. During the presentation of the album on a press conference in Mexico City, the band members explained that they had been reading about sacred geometry and said: “there are esoteric themes, in which art can be seen as a game, but it can also be interpreted as the game of life and all its programs. It has to do with existentialism and seeing life as a game field”
As far as the sound goes, in that same press conference, Zoé indicated that their sound is already an established sound, but It doesn’t stop them from always looking for new ideas. This is evident in the sound of the album in which the old sound is there, but there also subtle inclusions to the sound that were probably taken from their experimentation with the MTV unplugged album.
