After initial disappointment that Los Fabulosos Cadillacs dates in late 2008 did not include any US appearances, fans en EEUU will finally get to see their reunion tour with a New York kick off date Mar. 6 [check Al Borde Nightlife for dates from the entire tour]. And, this will also include a new CD release from Nacional Records.
By the time you read this, Oakland-based Fuga! will have played their CD release party at Slim’s in San Pancho with La Plebe and La Colectiva, and headed out on the road for a series of shows in the Southwest and México to promote their excellent second CD, “Relatos Rebeledes.” Among other dates, they will be playing The Westchester Feb. 7 with Montecristo, Koñorteño, El Manifesto along with Angel, Greg and Mato from Mezklah sitting in with Fuga! for a few songs.
And the long-anticipated sophomore CD from FZ-10 will see a March release, with the band opening for LiraN’roll, when they will hold their CD release party while opening for these legendary urbano rockers in Santa Ana. Date is set for March 14, with venue still to be announced. Coatl have finished recording their second CD, and are currently mastering, with a late spring release anticipated.
From Perú, there is word that Los Fuckin Sombreros are planning a return visit to the US to support their rockin’ CD “Sha-La-La.” Although it was planned to have the band play at ARKA Fest in 2007, their promised funding from the Peruvian Arts Council did not come through. With songs like “Predicador” (which harkens to “Homicide” by 999) and the title track of the CD, you don’t want to miss this band that traces a 10 year history when they come to tour.
And we have word that Delux is finishing up their third CD (with Joe Marlett of Foo Fighters producing fame) handling its production. A “secret show” is planned for LA to present the new songs. When we crack the secret code, it will be passed on to readers of alborde.com. Bolivian rockers Octavia have finished their latest CD, and plan to tour the US in April to support its release. Rumor has it that this tour may also include Chilean rock band Lucybell.

And yes, negotiations are finally underway to release the new Jumbo CD in the US. Their third CD “Teleparque” was not put out domestically in the US, but watch this space for the EEUU release of “Superficie.” We hear an April release is planned.
On a final note, politico-metal band Epidemia have re-united after lots of fan requests for them to get back together. They are currently planning their return concerts, and a CD retrospective of their recorded career, that may include a few new songs.
