Palenke Soultribe had a perfect kickoff to their tour season at the Pachanga Festival in Austin, TX on the NPR / KUTX stage last May. KUTX Radio station, a station known for their eclectic taste, made “Blanco y Negro” Song of the Day and selecting the Colombian band as one of the seven “Must See Acts” of the Festival.
The band, known for their distinctive sound combining afro-Colombian cumbia with electronic music, is now getting ready to embark on their 4th European Tour. This time around, they have two confirmed shows at the world known Glastonbury Festival in England. The band will also perform in other massive festivals this summer including the Czech Republic’s Colours of Ostrava’s main stage, where artists such Bjork and St. Vincent will perform, among other great acts.
The tour will continue to Brussels, Luxembourg, Croatia, Switzerland and Berlin. Palenke Soultribe will head back to North America and will play at the PANAMANIA’s Pan American Games in Toronto, a free outdoor festival, sharing the stage with Tribe Called Red and Calle 13, among others.
Later in the fall, Palenke Soultribe will perform a showcase at WOMEX. WOMEX is an esteemed professional music conference and showcase festival that will be held in Budapest, Hungary this year from October 21st to the 25th.
The European Tour comes in perfect timing for the band, as they are about to finish their 4th studio album SANGRE, due out this fall.
Before heading off to Europe, Palenke will be performing at the NALIP (The National Association of Latino Independent Producers) Media Summit at the Egyptian Theater in Holywood this Friday night.
