Malacates Trebol Shop:

Only mid way through the year, Guatemalan band “Malacates Trebol Shop”, are already showing a fruitful 2010. Having performed in this year’s Vive Latino (one of Mexico’s largest and most important rock festivals of the region) as the first Central American band ever added to the bill, releasing a fourth studio album and touring the states in promotion of it, the  band looks forward to presenting themselves on Angeleno terrain, area that according to the band, is Mecca for all musicians hoping to reach a wider audience. “Los Angeles is where all cultures meet,” states Jacobo Nitsch (trumpet).  “It’s like the capital of music entertainment. L.A. is always on the map when it comes to promoting an album and getting your music across”.

And Malacates Trebol Shop will be doing just that as they present their De que sirve querer album at LA’s Conga Room this upcoming June 3rd. To prepare for their Conga Room performance, the band picked the brains of local L.A. talent to get a better taste of how Angelenos like their rock. “We’ve been meeting various local artists during our visit here,” states Jacobo. “We’re looking forward to allowing ourselves to be influenced by them and although we have our own unique sound, we’re open to getting to know this area better and learn from our musical colleagues.”

Before you make your way to their next L.A. show, take a look at this exclusive session where MTS’ Jacobo and Francisco Paéz (vocals) delighted the inhabitants of the AlBorde.com headquarters with an improv to the albums first single titled “De que sirve querer”.
