After the headlining image to the Tritone Latin Music & Arts Festival Facebook profile is changed to a new promotional flyer in which Zoé, Fobia, Belanova, Ximena Sariñana, Moenia, Los Bunkers, Panda and Ceci Bastida are dropped from the list of performers, music fans demand a response from the festival organizers at BRC Entertainment.
Following Coachella’s music+art+food concept, the event was to take place from October 19-21 at the Prado Regional Park in San Bernardino County. When we last spoke to Steve Ortega, founder of BRC Entertainment, and his son Rick, they expressed their desire to make the 3-day festival the biggest concert for Latin music in California. Now with the sudden cut from the list of performers, what looked like the perfect weekend-long destination for Latin music fans, is looking like a one day visit to the park.
Sonia Sanchez Montes, from Fresno, Ca, posted this on the events Facebook wall: “Can we get reimbursed I cant afford to see bands I don’t know all the ones I was going to see are not playing anymore. Very disappointed”.
Other music fans like Daisy Gabriela Viera have also taken to social media to express their concerns regarding tickets already purchased. “Event organizers are playing with our money!” posted Viera.
General admission tickets for the event with the original lineup were sold for $119, Premiere RV Campsite admission for $500, Standard RV campsite admission for $250, and VIP passes for $549.
Neither Montes’ or Viera’s complaints– or any of the various allegations posted on the TriTone Latin Music and Arts Festival Facebook profile– have been cleared by the page administrator.
But strangely so, there has been activity on behalf of the page’s administrator. Earlier this morning they posted “Come and see El Gran Silencio SUNDAY Oct. 21st @ The Tritone Latin Music & Arts Festival!”, leading fans to believe that their comments have been heard, but are being ignored.
Digital Girl Inc., the marketing and pr agency hired for the campaign, has also decided to no longer be associated with the festival due to “a variety of changes including it now being a one day festival”.
Although the TriTone Latin Music and Arts Festival website does state that a new lineup will soon be announced, it still shows the event as a 3-day festival.
We have contacted BRC Entertainment regarding the allegations and are waiting for a reply. Updates will be published as soon as they come in.
