On Saturday, February 9th, the WLCAC Outdoors in South Central, Los Angeles welcomed hundreds of ska fans to the 2013 edition of the Los Angeles Skawars festival. Produced by Evoekore Media, the event presented a variety of bands, including Los Rudos, Pachamama, The Amalgamated, Profesor Galactico, Ekolekua, and The Delirians.
Children, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens showed up in groups to the largest ska music gathering in Southern California, which fulfilled its promise of presenting one band right after the other.
Bands like Mafia Rusa kept fans energized with one of the most energetic and exciting sets of the evening, and local bands La Resistencia, 8 Kalacas, and Viernes 13, built on the momentum to prepare fans for visting acts Buck-O-Nine from San Diego, La Plebe from San Francisco, The Toaters from NYC, and Maskatesta from Mexico City.
