Mexico’s “Frijolero” powerhouse is taking over Europe, one city at a time.

On May 15th 2012, Mexican rap-rockers Molotov will release a new album: “Desde Rusia con Amor” (Universal Music), a live recording of their 2010 European tour through Kazan, Kosovo and Perm, Russia.

This past Sunday, attendees to the Vive Latino music festival held in Mexico City got to hear a preview of the new material, which includes the songs “Santo Niño de Atocha”, “Crazy Chola Loca”, “Goner” and “Azufre Mamón”.

Aside from the new tracks, “Desde Rusia con amor” will include some of the band’s greatest hits from their successful 17-year career in which they molded and shaped Latin alternative music and redefined the listening experience.

Their socio-political lyrics dealing with migration, racism and violence made them a perfect fit for the upcoming “Give me the Power” documentary, a film by Radio DJ/host turned director Olallo Rubio.  The film will also be released in May, prior to the presidential elections, and will focus on Mexico’s history of corrupt political parties. The film will be musically supported with music by Molotov, and will also include the band member’s personal insight on the matter, as well as interviews with other people of interest.

As of now, Molotov began the year with a busy agenda that includes a 36-dates summer concert series through nine European cities for their promotional tour of “Desde Rusia con amor”.
