The LA Times recently reported that cancer is now the #1 cause of death for US Latinos.  It is no longer heart disease. If this strikes a chord in you, you may want to jump on the bandwagon and do something about it.

One unique way of contributing is by bidding on rare memorabilia from some of your fave Latin superstars. It’s all part of the Los Producers Charity auction for City of Hope and their Hispanic Resource Program where, for a limited time, fans can bid on a Juanes jacket, Robi Draco Rosa Lithograph, OZO VIP package, LA Dodger package, SXSW Music badge, Carla Morrison shoes, Tigres Del Norte outfit, Tucanes de Tijuana tejana, Gerardo Ortiz guitars, Moderatto guitar and bass, Lila Downs Huipil, Calle 13 melodica and much more.
Many of the items will be closed this Saturday and Sunday, all others will be on auction until next week. Pledge with your wallet and simultaneously snag some rare memorabilia, here.
With support by Broadcast Music, Inc (BMI), the auction was kicked off during last week’s Latin Grammy week with a unique evening of live music that benefited comprehensive cancer center City of Hope’s Hispanic Resource program.
Backed by an all-star house band, performers included 2012 Latin GRAMMY nominees Chino Y Nacho, Carla Morrison, Los Claxons, Kinky, Gianmarco, Jotdog, Luis Enrique, Ulises Hadjis, Pamela Rodriguez, Vega, Antonio Orozco, Deborah de Corral and Noel Schajris, Moderatto, Duina del Mar, Los Mesoneros and other suprises.
Performers also took to the stage for spontaneous sets and collaborations. The ace house band included Sebastian Krys, Dan Warner, Lee Levin, Doug Emery and Rodrigo Cardenas.
