From various parts of the world to the stage of the Bolochos International Ska Reggae Music Festival, great Latin ska bands will come together once again for the second annual Latin American Cultural Music Festival.
Presented by Bolochos Ska Shop and International House of Music Inc., the all ages event will take place on Saturday, March 10 on the 1000 block of Los Angeles Street in the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion District.
Currently, the bill is topped with the skankin’ Spaniards, Dinamo, whose musical ingenuity bring to life influences from Argentina, Italy, Australia and their native Spain. Having played with Maldita Vecindad, Antidoping, Salon Victoria and other veteran skankers, the band has also established a name for itself with successful European festivals and tours through Belgium and Germany. Also from Spain, the singer and producer Nano Bravo will bring his reggae “Valenciano” to the stage as well. Nano has worked with reggae greats Sizzla, Rita Marley, Aswad and U Ray, amongst many others.
Malacates Trebol Shop from Guatemala is bringing its ska-pop to L.A. after completing their fourth album titled “De Que Sirve Querer?”. With the production of the guru of Latin rock, KC Porter, the album will be released this upcoming April. The first video for the album can be previewed below.
Also represented in this year’s Bolochos International Ska Reggae Music Festival is Mexico with the performance of Almalafa, and L.A. with La Resistencia, Viernes 13, Roncovacoco and other potent Angelino skankers.
