After a 10 year hiatus, Beto Cuevas, Mauricio Clavería and Pedro Frugone from Chilean group La Ley, are back and to celebrate, they have just released a new greatest hit collection titled Retour, which includes the brand new track “Olvidar”.
As a thankful gesture to their fans who have patiently waited for their come back, the members of La Ley are in the midst of a cd signing mini tour that began in San Diego on May 12, the FYE store in Fullerton (where we were present) on May 13, Amoeba Record Store in Hollywood on May 14th and will finish in El Paso, TX on May 15th.
Although the CD signing was scheduled for 5 p.m. at the FYE store in Fullerton, from an early hour, La Ley fans showed up to purchase their copies of Retour and to secure their place in line. The line outside the store showed the magnitude La Ley and their music and how it has transcended generations and nationalities. The line outside had people ranging from their 50’s to young kids and people of different ethnic backgrounds.
Over 20 years have gone by since the release of their first official record called Doble Opuesto. La Ley has undoubtedly become one of Latin American rock strongest pillars over its 15 years of existence and has created a strong influence for a whole new generation of bands during the last decade.
After taking a break from the stage, which lasted almost a whole decade, La Ley has officially returned with renewed energy as has been seen in their performances at the Viña Del Mar and Vive Latino festivals.
La Ley will be back to the states to begin their American tour in the month of October. Dates and venues have not been confirmed yet, but as soon as the information becomes available, we will have it for you.
