Julieta Venegas was in Los Angeles last week to present her new release, Los Momentos. The Latin pop singer first gave a special showcase on April 16 at Amoeba Records in Hollywood , before her presentation at radio station Super Estrella’s “La Tocada”, which took place on April 18 at The Mayan Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
In what turned out to be a semi-acoustic show at The Mayan Theater, Julieta played electric piano and acoustic guitar, accompanied on stage only by her drummer and a keyboardist, who also also managed the guitar and bass.
With a set list that was heavy with new material, the biggest surprise of the evening was when Julieta invited her old friend and protégé, Ceci Bastida, to join her on her new song, “Te Vi”.
Although the audience seemed to enjoy the new songs, it was Julieta’s hits that really got the crowd excited. The fans sung every lyric of her popular “Me Voy”, “Eres Para Mi”, “Lento”, “Andar Conmigo”, and “Limon y Sal” single, serving as other great highlights of the concert.
