El Tri Celebrate 45 years

By | November 21, 2013

On a cold evening, the rock & roll faithful began to appear at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena to celebrate the 45 years of Alex Lora rocking and rolling.

To help celebrate, El Tri invited some of the bands that Alex Lora and his music have influenced like FZ10, Arrobo, Interpuesto, Heavy Nopal, Tex Tex, and Haragan y Cia.

With each band hitting the stage, the momentum kept rising and the cold weather outside the sports arena didn’t stop the atmosphere inside the arena from getting warmer as time got closer to the band everyone was there to see.

Heavy Nopal, Tex Tex were probably some of the best received by the crowd, which overall was very supportive of all the bands, even when Alberto Pedraza con Su Ritmo y Sabor took the stage, they got all the hardcore rockers dancing.

Haragan y Cia. played an acoustic show which was filled with a lot of sing alongs as singer Luis Alvarez and his acoustic guitar gave the crowd a greatest hits show.

Finally, late into the night, El Tri took the stage and Alex Lora, wearing mask, and without his customary guitar over his shoulder, got the crowd going from the very first yell.  As the mega hits of the band began to appear, Alex strapped on his guitar and hits like “Chavo de Onda”, “Abuso de Autoridad”, “Chilango Incomprendido”, “El Metro Balderas” and others began to blare through the P.A. system.

One of the highlights of the evening came early in the performance as Luis Alvarez from Haragan y Cia and members of FZ10 joined Alex on stage to sing “ADO”.

Sometimes it’s hard to believe that Alex Lora has been around for 45 years, starting off with Three Souls in My Mind, then as El Tri, and sometimes as just Alex Lora, but without a doubt, it is the music and the connection it has with his fans that keeps this living legend of Spanish rock going.
