Thousands of fans gathered last weekend at HARD’s Day of The Dead Festival to express themselves and their love for electronic dance music. The thrilling and sound-enriched festival was celebrated November 2nd and 3rd at the Los Angeles Historic Park.
Headliners included worldwide known DJs and producers DeadMau5, Skrillex, Nero and Calvin Harris. The performer’s list also included HARD’s founder and CEO Gary Richards, where he performed as Destructo. As for our local talent, two of the DJ and producers that represented Los Angeles were RL Grime and Kastle.
Featured performers that stuck out and left fans in awe were the incredible live performance and set up by The Bloody Beetroots, and the passionately melancholic piano pieces that structured Deadmau5’ set. Needless to say, both performances brought something new and innovating to the EDM plate.
Other DJ sets included a little bit of every genre: drum and bass, trap (a combination based on hip hop and 808 drums), psychedelic sounds, reggae samples, and house music.
The two-day event was full of people with four things in common: they shared peace, love, unity and respect. Together they filled the audience of four stages throughout the venue. The four stages were separated as the HARD stage, HARDer stage, Under Ground stage and the Discotheque stage that was presented by the Red Bull Music Academy.
The venue also featured locations like merchandise shops, a charging station, a station to make bracelets, a photo booth, and a water refilling station to keep the dancing audience hydrated.
