What do you get when you mix 50’s doo hop, electro, hip-hop, 80’s music, a shit-load of synthesizers, and witty/ fun smartass lyrics? Sounds like a formula set for disaster, not so much if you’re Hyper Crush. Donny, Preston and Holly boldly release a party album for hipsters and music aficionados; it will literally keep you up all night. With such influences, part of their charm rests on the fact that they don’t take themselves too seriously.
{sidebar id=121}Just take a look at the kind of stuff they sing about: sex, drugs, nightlife, partying, video games, and even gum overdose.
If you have a chance to catch Hyper Crush live, don’t think twice about it. They put on quite a show, they’re extremely energetic, and neon outfits never looked better! If you missed them on their last performance at the Knitting Factory with Millionaires, stay tuned for upcoming performances, and meanwhile- “The Arcade” will do the trick.
