Caribbean – New Single by Astro

The Chilean indie band, Astro, has gone back to the studio to work on new music and is scheduled to release their second album this summer via Nacional Records, but in the mean time, this week the band released a new single titled “Caribbean”. The new album will be called Los Chicos de la Luz.Astro front man Andres Nusser explains the inspiration for the new track: “Some parts of the music were inspired by Enya, hence the name ‘Caribbean’ (from her song ‘Caribbean Blue’). The lyrics are about the Star Children, a mystical belief that the souls of certain children come from space, with the mission of helping the world unify and live in harmony and peace.”

“Caribbean” was produced by Andres Nusser, recorded at his studio, and mixed by Astro. Drums were recorded in the Red Bull Brazil Studios and the song was mastered by Dave Kutch.

After releasing their self-titled debut album, Astro was featured in the New York Times, LA Weekly, Los Angeles Times, ABC News, NPR Music and many more outlets.

Astro formed in the mid-2000s in Santiago, Chile and made their U.S. debut at SXSW in 2012, where they earned considerable buzz, with About.com choosing Astro as the #1 international band to see at SXSW.
