When a band lists Herbie Hancock, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Groove Armada, The Neptunes, and Danny Elfman as their influeces you know you gotta watch out for them. As unexpected and bizarre as that musical concoction might seem, this L.A. based band have worked this peculiar cacophony of sounds to the max, and flipped all the odds against them to create a sound of their own.

When Rich Alick and Paul Newman initially got together, they had a vision of merging jazz with electronic beats that would get everyone on the dance floor.  Their drive and talent has helped them become one of Hollywood’s most distinctive and acclaimed live electronic jazz breakbeat acts.

Aside from having a successful debut album “Heliosentric”, Helios Jive was in charge of composing the music for the film “The Bedstand”, they also composed music for the outrageous and entertaining “Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque”, y por si fuera poco, two of their remixes made it to the Top 10 of the Billboards chart.

The Latin flare comes courtesy of Fernanda Karolys, who is Helios Jive’s most recent addition, lending her sultry and distinctive voice to this remarkable band.

Aside from their peculiar music, Helios Jive are well known for their live performances which are captivating. Such performances have repeatedly scored them spots at the Coachella festival as well as the Burning Man Festival.

Helios Jive are currently working on a new album.
