She Runs LA powered by NIKE eventLadies, if you want to look smokin’ in your maxi dresses this spring, then you may want to consider adding some mileage to your kicks at the upcoming She Runs LA powered by NIKE event. The first ever digital, all women’s race is scheduled for April 27, 2011 and encourages ladies from all over our grandiose city to complete a 10K (6.2 miles) within 24 hours.

The digital aspect comes in with runners syncing their run on nikeplus.com using a Nike+ device (IPhone, ITouch, Nike SportsBand). But if you don’t have any of those devices, you can still join the fun.

Another cool part of the race is that you can choose your own location and invite your posse to join the run as well. And after you’re done burning off last week’s martini fest, Nike’s inviting you to a Hollywood red carpet bash to celebrate your run. The fiesta is going down at the NOKIA Theater in downtown LA on April 28 at 7:00 pm., and will consist of a celebrity and athlete-packed red carpet, a NIKE fashion show, a mini expo with complimentary manis and pedis, and a live musical performance by electropop artist Mike Posner.

A portion of the proceeds from the She Runs LA powered by NIKE event will be donated to Students Run LA, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to increase access to the sport of running for underserved youth across LA Unified School District.

Registration fees are $35 for high school and college ID holders, and $50 for the general public. For more information and to register for She Runs LA event, go to signmeup.com/sherunsla.com. But since Al Borde is all about hooking you up, simply be one of the first 50 people to comment or “like” this post on our Facebook and you’ll be entered to win tickets to the show, the mini expo, and the whole sh-bang. Oh, and out of those 50 people, 2 of them will win an exclusive nike+Sportband. Nice, right?
