Professional Skateboarder, Paul RodriguezProfessional skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, aka P-Rod, has a new Nike Skateboarding apparel and sneaker collection under his belt. The signature collection mirrors Paul Rodriguez’s every day style which is both comfortable enough to skate in and cool enough to wear on a day to day basis. According to P-Rod, the line is somewhat of a coming-of-age experience with the designs showing the more mature state in his life. “I’m past all the flashiness and all the fanciness,” states the Chatsworth, California native. “Now it’s back to the roots and being a pure skater.”

Having dropped the “flashiness and all the fanciness”, Nike SB and P-Rod designed a collection that eliminates the excess and leaves only the necessary. Lightweight, resilient and cleaner than previous designs, the Zoom Paul Rodriguez 4, for example, is a fresh approach to skateboarding footwear. A recurring factor in each Paul Rodriguez design has been the Nike Zoom Air technology and the diamond-flex technology which allows the fully cushioned sole unit to flex at wearers command.

Nike SB and P-Rod also took the idea of “more is less” and applied it to the rest of the pieces in the collection. Nike Dri-FIT technology was implemented in the rest of the line allowing the pieces to keep moisture from weighing down the clothes, thus weighing down the wearer.

5-pocket jeans, also with Dri-FIT technology, are designed with a waist drawcord system that ensures extra support, with or without a belt. And since denim is the choice of attire for most hard core skaters as well as for P-Rod, the P-Rod Signature 5-Pocket Jean has triple-needle construction and a reinforced back heel which will minimize fraying and increase the lifespan of each design.
