Honey and Vodka

Ever feel like your skin can use a little more TLC? Celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez hears you loud and clear.

The young Latin talent has worked on celebs such as actress Zoe Saldana and most recently the Victoria’s Secret models for their annual Christmas fashion show. And she always recommends that her A-list clientele use homemade beauty treatments, especially those with natural honey, in order to have a deep cleaned canvas.

Just recently, Gomez teamed up with the National Honey Board to create honey-based beauty treatments that will keep your skin in top shape. For example, she suggests combining honey, vodka and pomegranate to use as a homemade face wash. “Vodka serves as toner and it also thins out the honey. And pomegranate is an antioxidant, so when you combine the three and use it to wash your face, it really gives a clean and glowing finish to your skin,” she states.

And although the young expert is well aware of the numerous over the counter beauty products that use honey as an active ingredient, it is “all-natural honey applied in the most natural form that gives the best results. It has no chemicals and it is safe for everyone to use.”

So the next time you consider throwing vodka at someone’s face, you might actually be doing them more good than harm. Grey Goose, Absolut, or Smirnoff. Which spirit will you wash your face with next?
