Love La Dulceria

As a child, Jocelyn Blanco used to spend hours creating bracelets for her friends and family. But just recently she took her hobby of craft making and turned it into “Love La Dulceria”, an accessories line of necklaces, earrings and bracelets that reflect her Latin roots but hold the every day L.A. girl as a muse.

Love La DulceriaBlanco received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Fashion Design and Master of Business from Woodbury University. She took the concept of the pleasure that a candy shop gives those with a sweet tooth to name her company “Love La Dulceria” (love the candy shop), offering those with a weakness for accessories a plate of delectable jewelry.

Each item is handmade by the L.A. native using crystals and metal wire. Semi-precious stones, pebbles and vintage stones make Love La Dulceria’s pieces one of a kind. Silver, gold-filled and gunmetal are used to string the stones together. The “Paola’s Earrings” piece, for example, uses a vintage gold-filled chain to wrap around a bead, giving the piece a disco ball look. It also incorporates an ameth crystal above the chain-wrapped bead. Other items such as the “Pasa” piece are practical and can be worn around the neck or wrapped around the ankle.

Love La Dulceria

Although Love La Dulceria is the new kid on the candy block, so to speak, it’s already being well received by fashionistas. In just a few days, the collection will be showcased at the third annual “Estilo Con Causa” event, a fashion, art and music fundraiser that aids impoverished children in Latin American countries.
