Baller On A Budget Vegas Weekend Guide

Whatever your personal style is: hipster, rocker, rapper, or any other hybrid of these and other lifestyles, you more than likely like to party like a Mick Jagger or Jay-Z. Problem is, your budget may not have as many zeros to it as theirs. And if it does, it may be digits in the negative.

So if you want a taste of the high life on a budget, I have your Vegas Baller Plan right here. This is a collection of many hours of research, numerous excavations to Sin City and various trial and error experiments that have resulted in a tried and true blueprint of how to party Tony Montana-stilo in Las Vegas.

TRANSPORTATION
I personally like to drive because it’s fun road trippin’ with your friends. If you choose to drive and you don’t have a baller car, rent one. Nothing feels better than getting to your party place in style. If your Vegas trip is for two, rent a sports car. By this I don’t mean a Mustang. Rent an Audi A5, BMW M3 or a Porsche Boxster. It will only set you back $350 for the weekend and best of all the Interstate 15 will let you find out exactly why at high speeds German cars are far superior than American or Japanese cars.

Note: Renting a Benz will make people think you borrowed the car from your gran’pops.

LODGE
Go from a Sunday to Wednesday night to get those crazy-discount-super deals. Always valet your car (it’s free) and have them bring up your bags. People notice those types of things and want to treat you better because they think you might be a big tipper. Also, when checking-in make sure to mention that you are in town for some kind of special occasion: anniversary, graduation, conference, won the lottery, or whatever, they always treat you better and upgrade you. Make sure to sign-up to the free rewards cards and try to use it everywhere so you can accumulate user points or get other card holder perks, like receive better seating or faster service.

Note: If you bring out your inner player-charm in Vegas, you WILL be rewarded. And of course, never forget to tip.

Recommended hotels:
#1: For the Mogul/Trendy type, try The Cosmopolitan. This is by far the coolest spot in Vegas right now. Everything is HOT in this place: the restaurants, the lounges, the décor and the people. Go for the Japanese soaking tub suite overlooking the strip. Once you are in that tub grabbing a little something you’ll forget all about how much you paid. For dining, try its Comme Ca French restaurant on the second floor. With over 700 bottles, their wine list is the most extensive I have seen in any restaurant around the world. If you’re not into wines, play your charms with the server and you could get a sample of a $500 bottle that was opened from earlier in the day. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll never go back to Yellow Tail.

#2: Classy/Traditional: So you might be going to Vegas with the person you want to marry (I hear some people take sand to the beach). If this is your case, stay at Caesars Palace or The Bellagio. Both are in the middle of the action and have great rates during the week. Any of their rooms are better than what you would find at the Luxur or New York New York. In Caesar’s, ask for an 8th floor suite in the Augustus Tower, they are bigger than most people’s houses and on Sun-Wed nights (and as long as it’s not a holiday) they only go for $200 a night.

STYLE
I’m going to talk to the guys on this one since women have a great sense of fashion and they know what fits them best –well, most women anyways. Guys, I have one rule that will make it easy for you (you can thank me later when hot chicks are checking you out at the bar). The first thing you need to do is watch Casino Royale. When watching the movie pay close attention to what Bond wears throughout the flick. Notice that his gear is timeless and diverse. So the rule of thumb when deciding what to wear in Vegas is to always ask yourself: Would Bond wear this? If the answer is no, then get back to your closet and pick something else. Ladies, just wear your usual tight stuff and send me some pictures 😉

Note: Don’t be that idiot at the Cosmopolitan Lounge with old jeans and a black t-shirt. I know it’s comfortable but that look only works unless for moving the lawn on a Sunday morning.

GAMBLING
Planet Hollywood has the best atmosphere for a young, well-behaved crowd. The music is great, the free drinks are not as watered down as casinos and the dancing girls are the best looking in town.

DRINKS
Again, The Cosmopolitan’s Bond Lounge is the place to catch a drink. The DJ is awesome, the dancers are spicy, the atmosphere is lively, the drinks are stiff, and the crowd is HOT!

DANCING
The award for this one goes to The Cosmopolitan Club. I suggest you arrive early since it’s “the” place right now. If you can’t get in, hit up the Pool Lounge upstairs, which turns into a club at night. The atmosphere there is cozy and airy, the crowd its super HOT as well.

AFTER PARTY HUNGER
At the end of the strip you can find a Vegas classic at The Peppermill. Locals, celebs and out-of-towners come here to eat like “The King”. From the food to the forest with neon lights decor, everything is over the top at this joint. The seats by the fire pit are the best for PDA’ing. It’s just that kind of place.

Note: Order their signature drinks: the Margarita Coronita and that other bloody one that I can’t remember because I was too drunk.
