The Basics: If you’re into retail therapy and shopping is your “thing”, you’ll be surprised to learn that The Grove in Los Angeles is host to a comfy little lounge that caters to all shopaholics.  “The Whisper Lounge” is tucked away in a little alley at The Grove. Lo chido de este lugar es que its an escapade from the big crowds, the strollers, the sun, and all the overwhelming window displays and instead of all that organized chaos, you get a quiet, dim lit and cozy lounge.

If you’re expecting to find an old-school lounge to kick it with the buds y armar tu desmother, you’re in for some disappointment.  While “The Whisper Lounge” is a good place to hang out with the cuates, it’s more of a place to unwind, relax, chill, and even chat, hence the name “Whisper Lounge”. Its intimate setting facilitates conversation and it’s even kinda romantic.

What to drink: There’s a ton of beer on tap to choose from. If you want a mixed drink, their cocktails are usually on the sweeter side. Among crowd favorites you’ll find the Cable Car, the Alley Whisper and the Lemon Basil Martini which is not only sweet but awfully refreshing.

Another good choice is the Blackberry Mojito- a different take on the classic mojito by adding an unusual and unexpected ingredient… also quite refreshing and very stron.

What to eat: Even though they serve full-on entrees, if you’re going to “The Whisper Lounge”, es mejor que dejes tu hambre en casa since the food is on the expensive side… at least for bar food it kinda is.

If you just wanna have something to munch on, go with the “classics” and order yourself some onion rings, fries, and some calamari.

Their Whisper Fries are your typical French fries with a little bit of seasoning and three yummy dipping sauces: chipotle BBQ, truffle oil, and bleu cheese.

The Crispy Calamari at this joint even tough is fried almost to perfection, by itself can be a little bland… thank goodness for the scrumptious chili garlic dipping sauce that came to the rescue of the otherwise lost fried calamari. Sin duda alguna, las salsas salvan a estos aperitivos from oblivion.

If you have some room for dessert, the S’mores are to die for. The cookies are nice and crisp, the marshmallow is creamy and the chocolate is tasty and rich… definitivamente un postre delicioso.
