Address: 400 N. Broadway
The Basics: OC nightlife is not exclusive to Downtown Fullerton. The Santa Ana area has its share of cool joints and hang out spots. “The Crosby” is rather popular among youngsters and hipsters- which makes it both a good thing and a bad thing. There’s never a dull moment at “The Crosby” and it’s always packed. The décor really sets the tone- plush leather booths, dim lighting, candles, and vintage boom boxes all over the place that serve as speakers. The resident DJ spins music all night long, so if you’re in the mood you can just hit the floor and dance the night away. However, it’s not all peaches and crème; it can get a bit too crowded especially during the weekend.
What to drink: Unfortunately, they don’t serve hard liquor at “The Crosby”, so if you must have some tequila or vodka on your night out, you will probably not be too thrilled. However, “The Crosby” has a wide selection of wine and beer, and a rather popular sangria.
What to eat: “The Crosby” has a wide selection of appetizers and pizzas. Even though the kitchen “officially” closes at 11:30, they keep serving pizzas all night long. The pizza at “The Crosby” is not bad, but it’s not great either… it’s rather generic.
Luckily, the other items in the menu make up for the dull pizza. Their “Starving Artist Sandwich” is the perfect drunk food- one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever, plus it’s not expensive at all, hence the name.
Their sweet potato fries have a good flavor but tend to be soggy, so if you must have finger food, go for the onion rings- they’re smothered in a scrumptious BBQ sauce.
Y para los que están guardando la linea, there’s spinach stuffed mushrooms- which are not bad for mushrooms, a bit small and bit-sized but still manage to make good “finger-food”.
