Sweetee Thai: Two Restaurants, One Name, Tasty Food All Around!

By August 28, 2008Food & Drink

ThaiCon la economía por los suelos, los precios de la gasolina hasta el tope, y un tráfico horrendo, salir a comer y disfrutar de una buena comida/ cena/ o simplemente lunch lejos de McDonald’s y Taco Bell es algo cada día más difícil de lograr… especially if you are among the group of starving artists, struggling students, and everything in between. El budget para comer fuera hoy en día is way tighter than J.Lo’s jeans, así que cuando comemos fuera, no matter how much we spend, we would like to get our money’s worth.  Si buscas no solo uno, sino DOS establecimientos que satisfagan no sólo a tu paladar sino a tu bolsillo, you should definitely check out “Sweetee Thai”.

The Sweetee Experience

Hands down, I would go back to “Sweetee Thai” just because of the great service.

ThaiEl solo recordar lo que ordenamos makes me feel guilty and makes mi lonjas tingle a bit with remorse.  We ordered: the “Outrageous Beef Salad”, the “Sweetee Thai Barbeque Chicken”, “Sizzling Beef”, and “Spicy Monsoon Noodles”.

The people at “Sweetee Thai” sure know how to cook some great and memorable Thai food. Tiene lechuga, pepino, cebolla, zanahorias, and beef grilled to perfection… todo esto bañado in a crazy and spicy dressing that will rock your boat.

2 por 1

So right before leaving, nuestra mesera nos comentó que “Sweetee Thai” acaba de abrir otro restaurante en Artesia, el cual sirve el mismo tipo de comida, pero con una atmósfera diferente.  Más chill and relax.   Mientras que “Sweetee Thai Cuisine” es un lugar para ir con tu peor es nada for a nice dinner o para celebrar algo especial, “Sweeteethaicafe” es el establecimiento perfecto para un quickie lunch con los cuates… algo sumamente casual- think Panda Express, but Thai and with food that you can actually enjoy.

Thai Cafe

El menú en “Sweeteethaicafe” is similar to the one at “Sweetee Thai Cuisine” but with a few exceptions and a couple of added goodies that you couldn’t find at the other place.

Si te laten los aperitivos y te atrae todo lo que viene “deep fried”, you must try their “Tofu Todd” and their “Goleen Fried Medallions”(calamari).  While the “Tofu Todd” doesn’t sound too appetizing (especialmente si el simple hecho de escuchar “tofu” makes you want to barf), te sorprenderás por el buen sabor que tiene, especialmente la dipping sauce con la que viene acompañado.

Como buenos latinos, my bud and I love a good deal, y nada mejor como un lunch special. Everything was nice and spicy y las porciones couldn’t have been better.  Pero si quieres probar algo nuevo, los “Thai Boat Noodles” are the way to go.  Just don’t ask what’s in there, solo ordénalos y disfrútalos.

Always room for dessert

There is no better way to resume a Thai-food-filled weekend than with some dessert.  You can’t leave without trying their “Bananas!”.

You can always share them. You’ll unleash your inner Gwen Stefani porque después de probar este postre you’ll be chanting and screaming that “…this shit is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S”… bananas indeed.
