Silky Smooth: Fab Ice Cream

By August 18, 2008Food & Drink

Silky SmoothWhile the summer will be officially coming to an end pretty soon, temperatures seem not to give a rat’s tail about seasons and as a result SoCal is hotter than a Pizza Hut oven.  Sometime the A/C is not enough to keep you cool, and you can only go so far with raspados and frappuccinos… you can always run to a convenience store or 7eleven and grab some ice cream, but let’s be honest here- generic ice cream is not all that AND a tiny bite-size ice cream snack has a gazillion calories.

Hi-Lo

Ice cream and summer go hand in hand; however, in a day and age where looks have come to play an important part, we can’t just go around pulling a post-partum Britney and eating everything that comes our way.

There are healthy alternatives to ice cream.  Low fat this, low fat that… but truth of the matter is that more often than not, those “healthy”/ diet snacks if they don’t taste like chalk, saben a bazofia.

Instead of keeping yourself from enjoying some decent ice cream treats during this infernal summer, check out the best thing to happen to ice cream since Cold Stone: “Silky Smooth”.

Ultra Creamery

Silky Smooth Ice CreamYes, healthy ice cream sounds like having a healthy hot dog right after clubbing.  However, the ice cream served at “Silky Smooth” is as close as it gets to lo-cal/carb ice cream that doesn’t taste like crap.

The ice cream at “Silky Smooth” even tastes better than your typical “Baskin Robins” or the tub-o-ice-cream from your grocery store of preference.

The ice cream at this joint really makes honor to its name… it’s freshly made and it has never been frozen. This Gourmet French Ice Cream & Italian Artisan Gelato fusion is definitely a good, intoxicatingly delicious experience.

SilkySplitYou’re gonna have to go back to “basics” when it comes to deciding which flavor to try.  My advice is- try them all.  Sure, Beverly Hills is a rather not long but hectic drive… but you can use your visit to “Silky Smooth” as an excuse to go shopping since it’s conveniently located at the Beverly Center Mall.

Whether you try Vanilla, Vanilla Explosion, Milk Chocolate or Strawberry Delight ice cream, you won’t be able to resist seconds.  You can get your ice cream just on a cup, a waffle cone; you can make a shake out of it, or a sandwich.  Kudos to their banana split “SilkySplit”, perfect for sharing with your peor-es-nada.
