The basics: Even though “Orris” has a strong lounge feel to it, it’s not quite a lounge… but then again it’s not a restaurant either. What “Orris” has to offer though is a chillaxing no frills atmosphere and a ton of French-Japanese fusion tapas that will blow your mind to say the least.

The place itself is hole-in-the-wall sized, yet its simple, clean and modern décor makes it a great place to just chill and unwind after a long day or on a sunny summer day.

What to drink: If you’re into wine, le pegaste al gordo en “Orris” since they have a huge selection of white and red wines. The house wine is always a good choice if you’re new to wine. They also have a nice assortment of domestic and imported beer.

What to eat: Since it’s a tapas place, you know the portions are not gonna be major, so prepare to order de todo un poco.  When going to places like this, it’s always better if you go with a larger group, that way you get to try even more food.

The albacore lettuce wraps are scrumptious: they’re served cold, seasoned well with jalapeño aioli.  Aside from being tasty and having an interesting texture, they have a subtle flavor… so nothing too fishy there. Lo mejor de todo, es que it’s also a healthy dish.

The shrimp mousse ravioli are also another tasty choice. You get delicate hand made ravioli stuffed with pureed shrimp in a rich, buttery and sweet mushroom sauce.

Another popular item on their tapas menu are their salmon croquettes, which are crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The smoked salmon flavor is superbly accented with salted roe on top.

The tapas at “Orris” are not too cheap, but they are affordable. Plus the quality and taste are well worth it.
