The Basics: Even though it’s tucked away in the San Gabriel Valley, if you want to chill and get your party fix, “NeoMeze” is a pretty decent choice. This ultra chic and modern lounge is literally a hidden gem since it’s easy to miss. That doesn’t mean its empty and/ or ordinary… es todo lo contrario. You get a total Hollywood feel to it- even with some attitude and pretentiousness included, courtesy of a young yet mixed modish crowd. You won’t find hip-hop or Top 40 jams on this joint. House, electro and dance is what’s thumping and bumping at “NeoMeze”.
What to drink: Drinks are not too pricey and they have a share amount of alcohol sure to give you a nice buzz without leaving you on the poorhouse. Get there for happy hour and most drinks are 1/2 priced. Kudos to the “Summer Sky Martini” and the “Fig in the City Martini”; however, the real winner is the “Captain Hook”- rum, cream, Kahlua, and coke.
What to eat: “NeoMeze” serves Americanized Mediterranean/ Asian Pacific inspired tapas, so you have a rather vast option of foods when it comes to figuring out what to eat. With so many delicacies it might be a bit hard to figure out… good piece of advice- eat light and keep it simple.
You can never go wrong with a salad, while they have a few to choose from, the Asian-heavy “Neo Nean Salad” is a refreshing take on salad, forget about typical lettuce salads, the “Neo Nean Salad” includes- fava beans, edamame, haricot vert, and cranberry beans with mango and radish, seared with sherry ginger vinaigrette. The “Neo Nean” is a tasty salad with just the right combination of sweet, salty and a dash of vinegar to fill you up.
If you don’t feel like having a salad, the “Chipotle Chicken Sandwich” is a must. Even though there’s nothing particular about it per se, the chipotle spread has a good flavor and a tad of a kick.
