The Basics: There are several clubs that have been around for quite some time. Some of them “age” gracefully and can somewhat successfully continue to work even after their popular days of glory and others simply collapse and turn into no-man’s land and eventually end up shutting down. On the other hand, there are others that remain in between. It’s in that grey area that we find “Giggles Nightclub”. Physically the venue is still looking good, however nowadays many people are hesitant to get their groove on at “Giggles”- mainly for two reasons: it’s all the way in Glendale, and it’s so 2000.
Glendale is closer than what you think, but it’s thanks to the ghastly weekend traffic that the idea of driving to Glendale seems a preposterous as playing Russian Roulette- yes, it’s that bad.
Traffic schmaffic… there are several tricks to avoid it; you just have to figure out the right shortcuts, twists and turns. Either that or you can leave home a little bit earlier or later. So if you’re willing to avoid rush hour, or just get somebody else to drive, you should give “Giggles” a chance. While this place was hot a couple of years ago, it still gets busy and it’s a pretty decent party spot.
There are two dance floors in which the DJs spin crowd faves: Top 40, Rock En Español, Hip-Hop, Salsa, Merengue, Reggaeton and all those booty-shaking Latin beats.
If you happen to be on a budget, “Giggles” te va a caer como anillo al dedo since it’s extremely affordable- both entrance cover and drinks.
There’s just one thing that needs improvement, and that is- the music. While the DJ’s spin some new music, when it comes to Rock En Español and “Música En Tu Idioma” they seem to be stuck in the 80’s/ 90’s. It’s ridiculous how even nowadays they keep playing the same songs from years ago. Their definition of Rock En Español seems to be solely Maná circa ¿Dónde Jugarán Las Niñas?, Caifanes, and you know the rest of played-out songs que nunca faltan en un antro or at a house party.
Overall, while “Giggles Nightclub” lacks the hip/ fresh vibe that it had on its heyday, it’s still an acceptable place to party, catch a buzz, a couple of phone numbers, and perhaps a hottie.
