The Basics: Nightlife has been slowly and steadily changing over time. Nowadays you don’t have to drive all the way to Hollywood and Downtown L.A. for a pleasant and memorable clubbing experience, now, do you? Yes and no. There are many venues opening and going under new management that are trying to inject a taste of the L.A. / Hollywood nightlife to the suburbs. The SGV has seen a growth thanks to Pasadena and its active nightlife. A club formerly known as “Muse” has transformed into “Menage”, a three-floor nightclub spinning old-school, hip-hop, dance, and lots of Top 40, filled with a mixed crowd, go-go dancers, fully stocked bars, and stripper poles here and there.
Yes the stripper poles are a bit of a tacky move, but they prove to be quite entertaining. The crowd at “Menage” is eclectic and it varies from the wild twenty-somethings to the hard-partying thirty somethings.
The ambiance is acceptable, pretty much everyone is into their own thing, little and almost zero pretentiousness; however, “Menage” doesn’t seem to be “single-friendly” so it’s better if you hit the club with a bunch of friends.
You might want to booze it up before hitting the club though, drinks are a bit on the weak side.
