The basics: If you like to keep yourself busy y eres de los que les gusta matar a dos pájaros de un tiro, then you will enjoy and make the best out of your visit to “Bodega Wine Bar” since its located in the Paseo Shopping Center in Pasadena. If you think that it’ll be crowded and not up to your standards because of its location, you’re totally wrong since this joint is pretty much hidden… it’ll take you a while to find it, as it’s tucked away on the second floor.  “Bodega Wine Bar” is a nice cozy spot to chill with the friends, grab a drink, a quick bite… and why not, socialize and mingle.

The décor is simple yet chic, the music is as eclectic as its crowd… they play from MGMT and The Avalanches to soul and old R&B jams, plus its dim lighting facilitates a relaxing and intimate atmosphere, además cuentan con un outside lounge bastante chido.

Por si fuera poco, on Mondays they have ½ off on drinks and appetizers… a hell of a deal.

What to drink: As the name of the place will tell you, you’ll mostly find wine at this joint. Even though the wine selection is huge, the alcohol is not limited to wine; you can also find beer y otras curiosidades.

A nice way to subtly start the evening is with a glass of Nino Franco, a white sparkling wine that’s slightly sweet and dry but refreshing nonetheless.

Another good selection is their Villa Jolando, a rose sparkling wine, very sweet and bubbly.

What to eat: Even though they have a rather small menu, you’ll be surprised by the choice selection of tapas.

For starters, if you’re into Americanized finger food you’ll enjoy their roasted fingerling potatoes; they come with shallots, herbs and garlic aioli… they’re scrumptious.
At “Bodega Wine Bar” they have a deelish bruschetta and olive tapenade. It’s definitely a must… the bruschetta is crisp and rich and the drizzled extra-virgin olive oil gives it a special flavor, this dish is topped with tomatoes and olive tapenade.

Now if you’re in for something more casual, the pepperoni and cheese platter is the way to go. It comes with thinly sliced pepperoni, a block of cheese, and mini toasts… that’s the perfect paring to go with the wine of your choice.
