There are many ways people can relieve the stress that comes with living in such a fast paced metropolis like Los Angeles. For the health conscious and pacifists there’s yoga, pilates, and meditation; for the young and restless there’s hiking, partying and boozing it up; now, for the rest and extremely stressed there’s paintball. You don’t have to be stressed to enjoy it though, but after a paintball session you might find yourself relieved and very relaxed. Paintball is one of the most popular “extreme sports” in the world- it appeals to people of all ages and from all walks of life with nothing in common but the love for adventure.

Many dismiss this “sport” of being a violence perpetuator, and while there might be some truth to that, shooting guns is what paintball is all about.
Rather than playing off as “war games”, paintball is more of a combination of “tag” and “hide & seek”- you know, the games you played when we were kids before we got idiotized by TV and video games- but of course more challenging and with different strategies and rules.
If you look past the paint guns and the shooting, you’ll discover that paintball is a “sport” that encourages physicality, team work and a determination.
Rules
Safety comes first, so players must wear safety goggles and/or face masks at all times.
The game is pretty much divided into two teams that must protect their “fort”. Each team has flag that the other is trying to get, once someone from the opposite team gets the other’s flag that team is declared a winner. While trying to get the flag you eliminate the opponents by shooting them—once you’re shot, you’re out.
It’s that simple.
Warped Paintball Park
The “Warped Paintball Park” is one of the newest paintball parks in the SoCal area. It’s located in Castaic- about five minutes from Six Flags. It is also geared for all levels- from beginners to pros; there are 4 scenario fields all spread out on about 40 acres.
Contrary to what many might think, it’s not as expensive. The basic package is about $30: it includes half day walk on entry, rental for a gun, unlimited air and 500 rounds of paintballs.
