As part of the “Records y Recuerdos: Music and Memory in Queer East L.A.” series, Artist Hector Silva takes microscopic lens into the world of homosexual relationships between two “vatos.” Art Scholar Richard T. Rodriguez dubs Silva’s recent work as the “homeboy aesthetic” because he reinvents what the ideal gay relationship is.
This exhibition is the first retrospective to feature Silva’s entire range of erotic, playful and politically charged work.
