Whether you were born in The Golden State or decided to move here, there are a few popular places you’ve definitely heard of.

But have you actually taken the time to check them out?

Asking around we came up with a TOP LIST OF COOL PLACES you must check out when in California:

1) For the Adventure Seeker: Yosemite

Sure you’ve hiked before but have you ever done it out to a waterfall? Exactly! Yosemite is also ideal for meteor showers, rafting and zip lining!

 

2) For the Winos Cultured: Napa Valley

About one-hour north of San Francisco, following the yellow brick road just kidding you will find every wine lover’s paradise, housing over 400 wineries.

 

3) For the travelers: Sausalito

Skip the city and stop by this gorgeous little town. Located just 10 minutes from the fantastic Golden Gate, there’s Sausalito, filled with vintage stores, cool floating homes and exquisite bars and wine tasting rooms.

 

4) For the couples: Catalina Island

Don’t know what to do for your next birthday? Take the ferry to this lovely place for FREE! Once there you could take the zip line eco tour, do some kayaking and decide between snorkeling or scuba diving #whynotboth

 

5) For the hippies: Carlsbad Flower Fields

For over sixty years, Mother Nature has transformed this into one of the most spectacular and coordinated displays of natural color and beauty anywhere in the world. Open only for a short period of time every year, so plan ahead!

 

6) For the kid at heart: Disneyland

Because of course, we can’t leave the most popular mouse on earth out of the list. Fun rides, delicious chimichangas and sparkly margaritas are on point for this type of adventure.

 

7) For the old souls: Solvang

A little piece of Denmark in gorgeous California, this cutesy Dutch town located in Santa Barbara county is the perfect spot if you’re looking for a peaceful weekend getaway. Need more reasons? They’re big on wine tasting!

 

8) For the taco lovers: Tijuana

Ok, although it is not located in California is right next door to us. Just beware of the day and time you go, sometimes the waiting times at the border are crazy long.

 

9) For the royals: Hearst Castle

165 rooms and 127 acres of gardens, terraces, pools and walkways all packed in a one-hour tour for $25 per person. Sadly, the Hears Castle is temporarily closed due to the Chimney fire burning in San Luis Obispo County.

 

10)For the avid Instagram photographers: Sequoia National Park

Prepare to fall in love with nature! Walk through the giant forest, take a tour to the breathtaking crystal cave and have a picnic while enjoying the view by Crescent Meadow.
