Hecho en Mexico

Lately, Mexico has been on the news for all the wrong reasons. The escalating death toll in Mexico’s bloody drug war, claims of vote buying preceding the presidential election and overall safety concerns for tourists have crippled its international appeal. But millions of people are still proud to call the Aztec nation home—despite of all the negativity surrounding it. And that is exactly what musician/filmmaker Duncan Bridgeman and his music advisor, Lynn Fainchtein, were in search of during a two-year quest thru the Mexican territory. The end result was an unscripted film that unveils what Mexico is really made of.

In “Hecho en Mexico”, Bridgeman time travels through years of Mexican traditions that are still upheld today and that have influenced the country’s geography, art, music, food and culture.
The film captures the livelihood of a nation through breathtaking visuals, original music and commentaries from some of Mexico’s most popular figures and includes appearances by Diego Luna, Lila Downs, Daniel Gimenez, Cacho, the late Chavela Vargas, Ruben Albarran and Residente Calle 13. It also takes note of street performers and average citizens of Mexico.
“Hecho en Mexico”, features music by Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Alejandro Fernández, Julieta Venegas, Kinky, Molotov, Cafè Tacvba, La Original Banda el Limòn, Carla Morrison, Pato Machete, Gloria Trevi, Lupe Esparza, Natalia Lafourcade, among others.
