Radha Mitchell The Darkness

Remember Wolf Creek? Yeah, that gruesome horror film that centered around torture. With little marketing the film became a cult classic amongst horror fans. Well, Greg McLean, the man who directed Wolf Creek, is back and this time he actually has a cast of experienced actors to work with in Kevin Bacon and Radha Mitchell.

Bacon’s last turn in horror may have been the oft-forgotten Stir of Echoes due to it’s arrival culminating shortly after the distribution of M. Night Shyamalan’s only universally well received movie, The Sixth Sense, but it still wasn’t a bad movie by any means (apologies to Hollow Man, which we’re not counting as a horror film in large part because it was more sci-fi, and in no small part because it was forgettable. Seriously, I bet you forgot he even did that movie until I brought it up again).

But we also can’t forget about his roles in Friday the 13th, Tremors, or Flatliners. And neither can we forget about Radha Mitchell who’s had her own strong horror career, with Silent Hill, Rogue, Uprising, and, more notably, The Crazies.

Her work with McLean on Rogue previously shows a 100% of Rotten Tomatoes so it’s more than likely that combining forces with Kevin Bacon should just make this movie better.

But don’t take my word for it. Here’s clip to help give you an idea of what we’re likely to end up seeing:

The Darkness opens nationwide May 13th.
