This past weekend, Pasadena was converted into a musical paradise. With various musical acts from various genres participating in its Make Music Pasadena Music Festival, the city was the place to enjoy an eclectic program of live musical entertainment. What drew me out to the show, I must admit, was Las Cafeteras.

A firecracker of a vocalist fronts Wonderfox. Her name is Isabel Valencia; she’s a petite little thing with monstrous vocals. I came across her talent, and that of Wonderfox, a few weeks ago at the Los Globos Club in Los Angeles. I have to admit that I was there to check out another band.
Lilo leaves Wiltern fans wanting more

At first listen, Lilo’s “Estupida No Soy” single might scream ‘pop rock’. But at closer listen, you’ll be able to hear that’s there’s more to the track than catchy pop hooks. Actually, there’s far more to Lilo and to her recent album, Te Quiero Confesar, from which the single spun, than meets the eye ear.
