After their recent nomination for the Premios Los Angeles in the Best Underground Artist of Los Angeles category, Palenke Soultribe released their most recent video “La Gozadera” this week and announced their European tour with several shows in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland, in June and July. They also confirm their participation at a festival in Ontario, Canada, and other shows in Colombia.
The video for “La Gozadera” is a rhythmic version of dozens of videos the band’s fans sent in online from around the world including The Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and the United States, amongst others. The collage of video images was turned into a dynamic and entertaining video that makes you want to watch it over and over again.
“La Gozadera” was edited by the Spaniard Iñigo Oleaga and delivers an aesthetic that is different from all other previous videos by this Colombian duet. “Palenke Soultribe is always looking for something different with their videos. I have seen their work, and some of their videos are narrative or very cinematographic. In this case, the focus was on their fans, the reality, that which is viral,” stressed Oleaga. “I think this is a great quality of this band, to always be exploring new possibilities.”
“La Gozadera” is the last single of the album titled MAR that was released in 2013 and was received very well by critics and fans alike and has generated great interest internationally. “La Gozadera is a very Latin American expression that conveys happiness and a good mood, almost always in connection with parties and dancing,” explains Andrés “Popa” Erazo, one of the group’s producers together with J. Borda.
Simultaneously to their video release, Palenke Soultribe is packing their bags to get ready for their European tour that is starting in a few days. In addition to the European tour, Palenke SoulTribe will also perform in the USA, Canada and Colombia. More dates to be announced soon.
