San Pascualito Rey - Club Los Gllobos

Mexican band San Pascualito Rey, whose music has been described as “dark guapachoso”, “mariachi-electrico” or “sonido grupero-melancólico-espacial tropicoso” will be making their debut at Los Globos his coming Saturday May 16th.

According to their bio on their official website, San Pascualito Rey first came together in 2000, when Pascual was invited to perform some songs he had recorded as demos and he invited some friends to arrange the songs in order to play them live, among them there was Adolfo (chewie), Nexus, Juan and Jorch, after the seeing the results of working on the songs together, San Pascualito Rey became a band.

In 2003, the band released their first album, an independent EP through Intolerancia Records called Sufro, Sufro, Sufro. The EP was produced by Gerry Rosado, guitarist for Consumatum Est and producer for Descartes a Kant, Santa Sabina, Yokozuna, Javier Corcobado, y El Haragán amongst many others.

In October 2005, with a new band member, Juan Evers on drums, the band put out their second EP, Ahora Vuelvo, which was also produced by Gerry Rosado.

Deshabitado, their third album, came out in 2006 and for a third time, Gerry Rosado was in charge of production.  With this new studio album, the band showed its maturity which is based on a “solid musical base with warm analog tones and varied organic instrumentation added to the voice and its profound dramatic lyrical simplicity” as cited on the band’s website.
