Add to your Memorial Day weekend activities the 2012 Silver Lake Jubilee. On May 26 and 27, the third annual Jubilee will be held in hipster town, Silver Lake, featuring approximately 35+ bands, 15+ food trucks, 75+ craft vendors, 40+ comedians, all gathered in one public spot.

The event will take place on Santa Monica Blvd beginning at the intersection of Sunset Blvd continuing southwest on Santa Monica Blvd to Commonwealth St.

Although the lineup for the event won’t be announced until March 1st, Latin music aficionados are keeping their fingers crossed for an encore presentation of indie faves Ceci Bastida, Ximena Sariñana or Las Cafeteras.

Pre-sale passes are now available online for $15 for a one day pass or $25 for both dates. General admission passes, which will go on sale March 1st, are priced from $20 for the one day pass or $35 for both concert dates. Anticipating the public’s outcry due to the $10 increase in this year’s pre sale passes, event organizers have provided a price breakdown on the event website showing where most of the admission money will go towards. Take a look:

• $10 Community Programs

• $4 City Fees, Security and Insurance

• $4 Administration

• $1 Re-investment Fund

• $1 Marketing and Public Relations

In partnership with Sustain LA and the Los Angeles Arts and Athletics Alliance, the festival also promotes sustainable living by emphasizing the preservation of natural resources and the sorting of on site waste. It is projected that more than 90 percent of the event’s landfill waste will be recycled or composted, making it one of the most eco-friendly festivals of its kind in the world.

Free bike valet will be available and Metro ridership and carpooling is strongly suggested. Complimentary water will also be provided throughout the event grounds as long as you bring your own container. May this year’s outdoor summer concert series and block parties begin!
