When you’re trying to live work on your fitness and get rid of your persistent lonjas, you have to change your eating habits- which means you have to sacrifice many, if not all of your favorite dishes. Tacos are among the must-not-eat list, as delicious as they are, you need to work the treadmill for about twenty minutes to burn the calories in one measly taco. Now, every once in a while we must spoil ourselves and eat something we really like other than bland salads, and again tacos seem to be many people’s weak spot. In my never ending quest of trying to find a healthy(er) alternative to the popular taco stands I came across “Taco Mesa”. |

Prior to living in the U.S. of A., the idea of “brunch” was as foreign and nonexistent as a sobered up Amy Winehouse. So after learning about the whole “brunch” concept and the big deal some restaurants make about it (especially on weekends), I became obsessed. While some establishments serve “brunch” all day long, most of them such as “The Grill” have it only for the earlier part of the day; “brunch” at “The Grill on Hollywood” however is most definitely worth getting up early for. If you live in the greater L.A. area you know the drive to Hollywood can be a bit tedious and jam-packed with traffic- well, not so much on Sunday mornings. |

El nombre del restaurante lo dice todo. “Pasta Connection” is definitely set to satisfy your innermost pasta desires. While it’s not the only thing they serve at this Italian/ Argentinean food joint, pasta is their best asset. “Pasta Connection” is the definite pasta galore. Lo mejor de todo is the fact that the pasta they make at this place is 100% fresh and homemade. Sure, there are a gazillion Italian food restaurants in the SoCal area, but very few of them step their game up and deliver high quality dishes at affordable prices without compromising taste and original flavor. The food you’ll find at “Pasta Connection” is the perfect combination of Italian dining, Argentinean flavors, and a bit of an American flair. |

As unhealthy as it is, we all know that fried foods are the ones that taste better. There’s a certain kind of food that quenches my thirst for tasty food but that it’s so fried and with such a high caloric intake that I only consume it once every three months: that would be Hawaiian food. There are a few Hawaiian food chains out there, but “L&L Hawaiian BBQ” seems to be on top of both locations and popularity. The Hawaiian food is delicious, but it’s a bit too much… after chowing down a full serving of food you feel as if you might explode and your Hawaiian food craving stop for months. In an effort to avoid feeling like Homer Simpson after a donut binge, I began a search for healthier and not so heavy Hawaiian food. I was about to give up when I accidentally came across “Bruddah’s Hawaiian Foods”. |
