Last weekend dark hip-hop producer and WEDIDIT member SHLOHMO played a set for #reFRESHLA music series. It was absolute magic
From his very infamous bass and undoubtedly sensual remix of Jeremih’s “F*ck You All The Time” to playing a heavy bass version of Twista’s “Overnight Celebrity,” trust when I say that especially in these two moments, the producer had the crowd in his hands. #reFRESHLA sure knows how to throw a party – besides the venue being intimate enough to create a great atmosphere for Shlohmo’s dark tunes, the private event was hosted by Coors Light (yeah, free beer) and had a photo booth to take memories along with you.
This #reFRESHLA event with Shlohmo and opener NGUZUNGUZU was the last of the three-part music series, which was carried through Los Angeles venues through out the summer. A variety of performers played in selected nights, artists such as Kali Uchis, HEALTH, Groundislava and P. Morris.
Al Borde has always been a huge fan of Shlohmo – if you haven’t listened to his album released earlier Dark Red, a highly suggest you give it a listen! “Emerge From Smoke” and “Meet Ur Maker” are my personal favorites as of right now.
