Kinky at the Conga Room

On Thursday, January 31, “Inmovil”, “Intoxicame”, and “Alma de Neón” were the first Kinky tunes to welcome the electro rock group’s fans to the Conga Room. Gilberto Cerezo, Ulises Lozano, Carlos Chairez, Omar Góngora, and Cesar Pliego, began the evening with tracks from the band’s latest album, “Sueño de la Maquina” (Nacional Records, 2012) before going into older hits like “Soun tha mi primer amor” and “Más” from their first release, “Kinky” (Nettwerk, 2002).

But one of the definite highlights of the evening was the cover of the Wall of Voodoo’s 80’s classic “Mexican Radio”, which the band adopted early into its career and is now a fan favorite.

The second epic moment of the evening was the performance of “Negro Dia”, which also appears on “Sueño de la Maquina” featuring Spanish hip-hop queen La Mala Rodriguez. Using a video montage, the single’s music video was projected as the band performed along to the video.
