The Afro Peruvian flare that has distinguished Novalima as one the long-lasting bands of world music arrives to the Conga Room stage on Thursday, July 12. The celebration is due to the collective’s tour for Karimba, their third full-length album, which was released through ESL Music.
The tour will conclude on July 15 on the California WorldFest stage, where Quetzal, Locura and over one hundred other performers will ignite the eight stages that make up the annual world music festival.
With an experimental sound that draws from dub, salsa, hip-hop, afrobeat and house, Novalima has toured the world making a dance hall out of every corner they play. Founded by Ramon Perez-Prieto, Grimaldo Del Solar, Rafael Morales and Carlos Li Carrillo, the band is in the process of working with superior producers and DJs in the electronic and global beat scenes to produce a remixed version of Karimba.
