The 13th Annual Latin Grammy’s are happening tonight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Univision from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET/PT (6 p.m. Central).
Festivities for the ceremony began earlier this week and were kicked into full gear with last night’s 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year presentation ceremony where Caetano Veloso, an eight-time Latin Grammy winner and two-time Grammy winner, was recognized.
During the gala, artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Juanes, Juan Luis Guerra, Nelly Furtado, and Enrique Bunbury performed songs from Veloso’s catalog.
Colombian megastar Juanes was also recognized last night with a special presentation for his Gold Record sales in the United States and Puerto Rico as well as multi-platinum international sales of his album ‘Juanes, MTV Unplugged.’
Tonight’s XIII Annual Latin Grammy Awards performers include Juanes with Santana, Caetano Veloso with Arturo Sandoval, Pablo Alborán and Sensato featuring Sak Noel and Pitbull, El Bebeto, America Sierra, and Sky Blu (LMFAO).
Award presenters include ChocQuibTown, Deborah de Corral, Reik, Ana Tijoux, Antonio Orozco, Milly Quezada, Tommy Torres, Ana Victoria, Pepe Aguilar, and Chino y Nacho.
Juan Luis Guerra leads the nominations with six under his name, followed by Jesse & Joy with a total of five nominations.
