Mexican Institute of Sound releases video for “Es-toy”

Under the Nacional Records label, Mexican Institute of Sound—lead by Camilo Lara, the former record label exec-turned-recording artist, released the new video for its second single “Es-toy” from his latest album Politico.

Lyrically, the album draws inspiration from Mexico’s recent presidential transition of power and scandalous political atmosphere. Musically, it maintains the funk-driven electro-cumbia style for which M.I.S. is known.

The video for “Es-toy” was directed by Tino De La Huerta and filmed at the M.I.S. studios in Mexico City, highlighting the stereotypical “after party” and featuring stylized cameos from upcoming artists such as Vicente Gallo, Little Ethiopia, Centavrvs, Andre VII and The Wookies.

M.I.S. just concluded a very successful So-Cal promotional tour and are set to embark on a one month tour through Europe. M.I.S. is scheduled to return to Los Angeles on October 27th for a performance at KCRW’s Masquerade Ball. Meanwhile, make sure to download your free “Es-Toy” remix by Brooklyn DJ/producer Atropolis and also preview Politico available on iTunes, here.
