“El Luchador”, track off MTV-tr3s’ new reality show
El Conjunto Nueva Ola members, an energetic motley crew that embraces the fusion of traditional Latin rhythms with the beats of electronica and rock and roll riffs, embark yet on another musical adventure. This time, their journey takes them to become creators of the theme song for MTV-tr3s’ new reality television show “El Luchador”.
Following the show name, the single is a fun song with a contagious and irreverent double entendre style that is the norm for this musical collective.
“El Luchador”, the show, follows four luchadores as they try to restore the greatness of Mexican wrestling. The show premieres March 10, 2013. The single is available for free download now.
El Conjunto Nueva Ola is currently in the pre-production process for its sophomore production, which entails several surprises, featuring great musicians and producers. One of the highlights of the forthcoming album is the single “El Chango”, produced by Wil-Dog, (El Gavachillo), a member of the world-renown band Ozomatli.
Originally from Mexico City, El Conjunto Nueva Ola consists of leader and vocalist Urbano López, Luzio Nava on guitar, Primitivo Ríos on bass, Hipólito Madero on percussion, Tacho on timbales and El Raio Manzares on keyboard. Their mission is simple: to bring flavor where it is needed and to make people dance to the rhythm of cumbia, mixing sounds of new wave, rock and disco.
