The debut of a six-part comic series that tells the story behind Mylo Xyloto, the fifth studio album by British rock band Coldplay, will be a highlight at this year’s 2012 San Diego Comic-Con taking place from July 12-15 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Published by Matt Groening’s Bongo Comics Group, the comic will give fans a deeper look into Mylo Xyloto, a character created by the band that was used as lead figure in the 2011 album release. The series will tell the story of a young Silencer on the front lines of a war against sound and color in the world of Silencia. Further into the storyline, Mylo discovers that the enemy he’s been trained to hate his whole life might not be the enemy after all.
The first issue of Mylo Xyloto will be available at Comic-Con 2012 with a limited supply available via Coldplay.com. The remaining five issues will be published on a monthly basis, beginning February 2013.
On Friday, 13 July, the production team behind the comic, including co-writer Academy Award-nominated writer and director Mark Osborne, will appear at a Comic-Con panel to discuss the series. They will also be available for autographs in the official signing area after the discussion.
