Celebrate Cuba with Art, Dance and Film

From now until Sunday, October 2, 2011, you can celebrate and explore the vivid culture of Cuba.

Although Cuba is only 90 miles away from the United States, from now until Sunday, October 2, 2011, you can feel a lot closer to the island than that. In celebration of the culture of Cuba, special events have been organized throughout southern California. Exhibitions, hand-silkscreened film posters, political cartoons, photographs documenting Cuba’s history, performances by the renowned Ballet Nacional de Cuba in Costa Mesa and Los Angeles, a film series with Cuban filmmakers, and a concert by the Buena Vista Social Club® orchestra await for your nostalgic trip to the island.

Check out some of the calendar of events, here, like the “A Revolutionary Project: Cuba from Walker Evans to Now” exhibit held at The Getty, which looks at three critical periods in Cuba’s history as witnessed by photographers.
