If you enjoy eating out, but are bombarded by guilt trips right after chowing down your meal, there’s a relatively new restaurant in town that will help you get rid of your guilt by serving yummy yet healthy food. What’s different about this place is that it’s not your typical preachy and over-the-top health-freak infested cholesterol hating joint, “Q-cina Green Café” finds the perfect balance between healthy and fast food… as a matter of fact you pretty much get gourmet quality food at insanely affordable prices, not to mention it’s a healthy choice among a plethora of fast food eateries.
The place
“Q-cina Green Café” is located in a rather sketchy area near the North Hollywood neighborhood, sin embargo y a pesar de eso, its location does not affect in any way, shape or form the whole experience you get.
This joint is oddly located in a little mini strip mall next to a marijuana dispensary, a smoke shop, and not one, but two pet grooming shops.
Location aside, this is a charming little place, on the small side, with simplistic yet colorful and cheery décor that makes the place charming and inviting.
The food
If there’s something in abundance at “Q-cina Green Café” is food choices… there’s not a dull entrée in their menu, you’ll pretty much find a little bit of everything.
Perhaps the most popular item at this joint is their Kobe burger… y no es por nada, after taking one bite you’ll see why. The patty is made with high quality beef, not to mention fresh and extremely juicy, it comes with two open faced buns with lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onions, your choice of cheese, and a light thousand island spread. Además it comes with your choice of regular French fries or sweet potato fries… if you want flavor go for the sweet potato fries… they’re BOMB!
Now if you want to eat something yummy without spoiling your diet, their “Grilled Veggie Wrap” is deelish. It’s filled with grilled zucchini and red bell peppers, baby spinach, alfalfa sprouts, and a delectable cilantro based, tangy, caper infused pesto sauce.
The dessert
No yummilicious meal can be complete without a nice desert… and at “Q-cina Green Café” they’re well aware of it, bringing you only three but well executed postres que te dejarán chupándote los dedos y con ganas de más.
They have Tiramusu Sponge Cake, Crème Brule Cheesecake, and chocolate/pistachio mousse.
The top favorite is Abby’s choco-pistachio mousse. Not only does it look beautiful but it tastes like a little piece of heaven, this is definitely a must, así que si no te queda un huequito en el estómago para el postre, get it to go!
