The ever-changing city of Angels tends to get rid of clubs, bars, lounges and venues every couple of years… either that or completely tear them apart and re-build a new and improved version of what they once were. Few of them manage to escape the volatility of L.A. nightlife, one of those venues that has been able to remain as true to its beginnings as possible is “El Rey Theatre”. The only “modern” and thus out-of-place thing about this venue is their neon sign. Other than that, its façade and décor will transport you back to 1936. “El Rey Theatre” has chandeliers and carpeted walls, which give it an even more old-fashioned vibe. Even though it made its transition from movie theatre to music venue in 1994, since it switched, “El Rey Theatre” has become a favorite music venue for many thanks to its looks, but most importantly thanks to its eclectic music- bands from all genres hit the stage: from hard core rock bands to hip-hop acts, and even burlesque dancers.

| Hi, my name is Rafael Alejandro Acero Hernandez, and I'm an alcoholic. I don't drink beer. I'm addicted to chocolate. I'm a bit bipolar and every once in a while obsessive/ compulsive. I have a really short attention span. I don't believe in labels, I'm not defined by what I do or by who I do- for that matter. I'm a writer, an actor, a dancer, BUT nothing is better than being a professional a$$hole. Soy un chilango incomprendido, y como tal- valemadrista a morir. | |
